The Ergo Electronics GoNote is an innovative Android notebook.
Unlike most Android products on the market today, the GoNote has a laptop/notebook form factor but does not run Windows like many netbooks. Instead it runs the highly customisable, efficient and appealing Google Android OS, version 4.0.
The GoNote is a blend of laptop design with smartphone power and productivity, designed to offer you an attractive and cost effective mobile working solution.
A 10" touchscreen (you don’t see that on other netbooks) makes up the main display, but a QWERTY keyboard and trackpad with left and right mouse buttons make for a more productive and simpler way to enter content and control the notebook.
The GoNote has a powerful 1.2GHz processor so you can keep numerous apps open to quickly jump from one to another at the touch of a button. With the built in copy and paste function you can easily copy text from the web and email it in an instant.
Browse the internet or download your emails using a WiFi connection, or by connecting to a network through the RJ45 ethernet connection found on the device.
The GoNote has a sleek and stylish design so it is perfect for taking everywhere you go. Available in either black or white, the GoNote weighs in at just under 1kg.
GoNote has 5 homescreens so you can set up individual screens with different apps, shortcuts and widgets. You can set up different things for different pages so you can have 1 for work or school, 1 for home and one for play! You can also add widgets to show your latest office documents, email, the weather, news or even toggle your battery efficiency.
GoNote comes with Kingsoft Office for Android pre-loaded so you can, create, edit and save documents, presentations and spreadsheets to the internal memory (8GB) or to a memory card inserted into the microSD memory card slot. In addition, because it has internet connectivity, you can share the files online too.
You also receive 5GB of FREE (terms apply) Cloud Storage courtesy of Box.com., so, should you be running out of storage space or want an online backup, you can easily do so.
Being an Android device, you have access to Google’s Play Store which means you can access thousands of apps, be it professional work apps, games or social.
Skype is a particularly popular way of communicating for free and with the GoNote you can do this with the front facing VGA webcam. Chat face to face with someone the other side of the world or use the camera to capture pictures for social networks and more.
To navigate around Android you can use the touchscreen, the touchpad & mouse buttons, or you can even plug a USB Mouse into one of the 4 USB ports.
This netbook also has HDMI out to allow you to connect it to a larger HD display, perfect for sharing presentations, video and pictures.
There is a 3.5mm audio jack to connect speakers or headphones , a 3.5mm microphone input and a 9000mAh battery to keep you working for as long as possible.
Compact, productive and innovative, the GoNote is a very cost effective computing solution.

"There is one major flaw in all of this. Having received mine from UK I find out that the version of ICS on there is not upgradeable and is already two upgrades behind. Which makes these little treasures obsolete before they start. Unless you are going to root and use a custom Rom these machines are already a thing of the past. Considering Ergo do firmware updates on their tablets running the same OS I find this a strange situation."
