Overview of HP Pre 3
In 2010, HP took over Palm to become HP Palm, launching the HP Palm Pre 2. However, a new range of devices is now lead by the Pre 3, under the name of HP. Of course, the HP Pre 3 features the webOS platform that powered the Palm Pre and HP Palm Pre 2, but with a few improvements.
The HP Pre 3 is designed perfectly to help you cope with the fast pace of life that is created by a busy social and business schedule. Packed into the slim design of the HP Pre 3 is a 1.4GHz processor, email engine, slide out QWERTY keyboard and a robust battery.
With webOS, true multitasking is made easy. Keep multiple apps open once and flip between them using simple gestures. Once you have several apps open, they are arranged in stacks as if part of a deck of cards. Watch a video half way through composing an email, play a game in between texting, or check Facebook while on a call.
Need to find something quickly? Use the universal search feature that is Just Type. Start a new message, find an email, search the web or update your status all from the homescreen. With Just Type and the slide-out QWERTY keyboard of the Pre 3, you can find what you're looking for within seconds.
While the HP app store is not quite as developed as those of its competitors, it still has a range of high quality apps to choose from. These include big name apps such as Angry Birds, Linked in, Facebook, the Times - and the list is constantly growing. The multitasking capabilities of the Pre 3 mean that you can make better use of the social networking apps than on other platforms.
So what else is new about the HP Pre 3? There is a front facing camera for video calls, noise-cancelling speakerphone and the ability to turn your device into a Wi-Fi hotspot - which are all great business and social features. You can also feel more comfortable carrying private information thanks to data encryption and password protection, or access company files securely with Virtual Private Network (VPN) support.
If you like the sound of the Pre 3, you will love the idea of the HP TouchPad. The 9.7-inch tablet is designed to work perfectly with the Pre 3, making the most of the new Touchstone technology that HP has developed.
