Do I rate this phone as best on the market? No! poor build quality,flimsy battery cover and simcard cover not to mention awkward to remove, very poor loudspeaker volume, hardware buttons unreliable and difficult to press, camera picture quality is lower than my HD2 in some circumstances and device is a little heavy.
I can understand a user coming from any other device to DHD considered an upgrade but from HD2 to DHD was quite disappointing.
There are some positives such as headphone audio quality, extremely good! UI Sense, very nice (completely acheivable with HD2 Android port)This is just my opinion after 5 months using this device."

"Package arrived 2 weeks after dispatch. Not the fastest, but could be due to Xmas rush.

I was however most unimpressed with the packaging, as everything arrived in a mangey standard yellow bubblewrap paper envelope. Would've been ok if there were only accessories, but for a £400 phone destined for international shipping, a padded cardboard box would have been nice.

The phone itself is really good. Very happy with the purchase. Battery life seems quite reasonable, isn't as bad as first expected. Although a portable battery charger can be useful for extended heavy usage.

My only gripe with the phone so far is the casing. It's like having a Porsche engine wrapped in a Hyundai body. Need to pry the battery and cards compartment covers open and pray to dear God they won't break as you do so. On my phone they don't sit right either - can see a slither of the electronics inside.

One other disappointment, phone won't fit into the generic cradle docking station with protective casing on. There is only enough space for the phone alone without the cover on (and it doesn't sit right either).

Otherwise, great phone, love it!"

Things i love:
the ability to customise everything! (android)
the ability to download any app i want
the music player and video player are superior... and the fact i can delete itunes off my pc!
the sound quality is amazing!

things i dont like:
the battery life (the first thing you NEED to do when you get this phone.. is download a task manager)

" I liked this HTC flagship very much and was going to order it to replace my present HTC Desire but I changed my opinion about this smartphone when I read impartial review of it on "mobile-review.com" (unfortunately, in Russian only at present time). It is a pitty that Desire HD has not got enough qualitative camera and built-in sound to listen to the music via earphones, in addition, it's got very poor accumulator on board, especially for it's comparatively high price.
P.S. Continue to use Nokia N86 and previous HTC Desire, and still wating for real practical flagship from HTC..."

"I've been playing with my new Desire HD for the past week since it arrived. Absolutely brilliant phone! I thought the Desire was great but Desire HD beats that hands down.

The phone is very fast and the larger screen is great for videos & multimedia while also providing a little more room for the keyboard - I've noticed an improvement in speed and accuracy as a result.

The larger size and heavier weight than the original Desire could be a problem for guys who like to stick the phone in a soft shirt pocket or in trouser pockets, especially if you use a case.

I tend to keep mobile data off and use WiFi as much as possible. Using the phone this way, even with keeping data always on & background synching and updates happening constantly when I am at home, I generally get around 30 hours use before needing to recharge the battery. For a phone as feature-rich as this one I consider that pretty darned good."
