Overview of HTC One S

THE HTC ONE S HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED. IT'S REPLACEMENT IS THE HTC ONE SV. CLICK HERE TO FIND OUT MORE.

The HTC One S is the mid range device in the HTC One Series of smartphones. It is not quite as powerful as the HTC One X but more powerful than the HTC One V.

In reality the HTC One S is a very capable phone and will service your needs very well appealing most to those who need a powerful smartphone but do not necessarily need features for which one would pay a premium, but do require something more powerful than a normal mid-range handset.

Powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor the HTC One S is no slouch and will handle multi-tasking and even mobile gaming.

Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) is installed on the device. The very latest operating system means the very latest features and best performance to date. A smooth, fluid and more interactive interface Android 4.0 has been customised further with HTC Sense to work better for you. Deeper integration and small enhancements make the whole user experience that little bit more fun, intelligent and rewarding than other Android smartphones.

Interact with the HTC One S through the 4.3” touchscreen display. Manufactured with Gorilla Glass (so it is scratch resistant) and whether it be emails, web browsing or movie playback images appear crisp and bright whilst intelligent technology works to keep battery life usage to a minimum and adjusts the backlight to your conditions.

16GB of internal storage gives more than enough space for music, video, pictures and other media; but if it is not quite enough another 25GB of cloud storage provided by Dropbox for FREE (for 2 years) should clinch the deal.

Share content from the phone to the cloud or other web based services such as Twitter and Facebook, from the HTC One S using the 3G data connection or via WiFi, it is your choice.

An 8MP camera with amazing camera technology, HTC ImageSense goes beyond point and shoot, allowing you to take amazing pictures in any conditions. You can instantly capture shots without delay, take excellent photos in low light and take multiple shots with continuous shooting. You can even snap a picture while and after shooting HD video, so you will never miss a photo again. Record the scene and capture your photos later.

This is undoubtedly the best camera on an HTC phone to date, offering a range of advanced features, as well as some simple yet highly effective improvements.

Take a picture in just 0.7 seconds from a locked device. Functions such as quick focus, the ability to snap photos from HD video, continuous shooting, automatic burst mode and dual capture buttons for photo/video are simple features, but contribute tremendously to the overall camera experience of the HTC One S. Also included with the HTC One S is an industry leading F2.0 28mm wide angle lens, meaning the camera performs superbly in low-light conditions. A proprietary HTC image chip allows for fast processing of photos/videos and an auto-adjusting flash provides 8 different settings to produce the most natural looking photo in any given situation. There’s also auto-tracking so that the subject remains in focus even when moving, plus a front facing camera for video calls.

Built-in Beats Audio™ technology provides an authentic studio sound and creates an enhanced listening experience, whether it be for YouTube, Netflix or your downloaded music and videos. This is complemented perfectly by the 25GB of free cloud storage that is provided by DropBox (for 2 years - charges apply after this time), which enables you to have all your files, music and photos with you when you’re on the go.

GPS street level navigation, Bluetooth and HD video out via micro-USB (separate cable required) are all included in a device that weighs just 119 grams with a 1650mAh battery to get you through the day.

A blend of performance, style and functionality the HTC One S is a capable phone that stands proud in the HTC One Series range.

"That's an excellent phone! Got it a month ago and enjoy it 200%, battery lasts the whole day from 10 to 22 hours of almost non-stop usage, GPRS, 3 email accounts, calls 1,5 - 2,5 hours daily, photos, video viewing.

and it feels supergreat in your hand!

Love it!

the only minus is that it still did not get Android 4.1, hopefully should get it in December - January"

"'not as powerful as the the one x'

hmmm..dual core krait..clock for clock provides more than 27% better performance than a quad core a9...more power efficient and way more advanced architecturally...this superphone came out in april...other manufacturers,Sony,Motorola etc are only now september releasing phones with this chipset...

Hmmm...if you little quadcore fanboys want to get a reality check..

compare the qualcomm quad core s4 (krait) pro with your quad core a9 found in one x ,galaxy s3 etc..

Get with the program people.

"Hi it s good phone.Except it s chipping. Every htc one s is chipping, there is no difference in stocks.I used it very carefully and so many scrathes on cover. Clove didnt respond after i sent them images of he phone. If u dont care this defect then this one of the best phones. Especially battery life which is the biggest problem of smartphones. Despite the fact clove didnt respond, it is the best online shop. I have bought 4 phones from here and without any problems. Thanks"

"Returned two of these phones to Clove.

First one exhibited the well known issue of the black finish flaking off within about a week of use, and the second one was flaking right out of the box.

Very disappointing issue on an otherwise great phone. I am waiting for later batches of this phone to appear which apparently have the issue 'fixed' before I re-order."

"Received my One S today, Woow, it's a gorgeous piece. I'd recommend this to any one.

It's well designed, solid build, unbelievably light weight & just gorgeous to look at.

People complain about lack of a micro SD but 16GB seems quite enough. Just loaded my whole music collection & still have 4GB to spare."

"Just Got my HTC One S from Clove ship to me this week. I do like it a lot and actually more than my HTS One X, it is easier to handle the phone by one hand. Very Nice phone."

"The first batch of black HTC One S phones is apparently faulty - the metallic cover can easily get scratches due to errors in manufacturing. You can save your nerves by waiting or buying the gray model.

The phone camera is still weak, even though it's better than in previous HTC phones. Still other manufactures offer a much better image quality.

The worst things I need to mention are: the non-removable battery, the lack of microSD slot, a pentile screen and a high price.

Personally I cannot forgive HTC for not letting me use microSD storage - a 32GB microSD card costs almost nil in comparison to this phone. Let's hope they will release a modified version of this phone (say HTC One SX) which will feature this slot."

"It won't work on T-mobiles 4G at the moment but should get 4G LTE when tmo releases it. It gets 3G on ATT. Its a very nice phone. Light, thin and fast. The super amoled pentile display is flawless. As stated before i don't know why people have scratches, i keep it in my pocket with my keys and not one scratch. "

"

this phone is amazing...dunno why folksy it gets scratched easy (they must have rocks in their pockets) its light , it's thin , it's class , I love it and it's easily the best htc out there! the x is too big and nobody really needs quad core yet as its untested...don't listen to the bad press on this phone...it's a solid unit with no creaking or a cheap feel to it...I can guarantee you'll love it (unless you are never pleased with anything) I get a new phone every 4 months but this baby will be with me for a long time...WELL DONE HTC!!!

"Yesterday I received a phone.
I was very disappointed.
after 5 minutes in my pocket it got two scratches at the side
after reading the forums, it appears that it is a frequent problem in the first batches of this phone
:(
Its my last HTC"
