Overview of HTC One X (Plus)
NB: You may also be interested in HTC's latest handset, the HTC One.
The HTC One X Plus is the new, improved version of the HTC One X. More speed. More storage. More battery life.
Featuring a faster processer (1.7GHz quad-core), larger battery (2100mAh), more internal storage (64GB) and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, the HTC One X Plus even boasts a slimmer profile than its predecessor (8.9mm), but offers a more powerful feature set and bigger battery.
The HTC One X not only features a more powerful processor than the HTC One X (1.7GHz quad-core), but also runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, which is the smoothest Android iteration yet thanks to ‘Project Butter’. This makes for seamless navigation and an even better gaming experience.
With more power, you’ll need more battery, which HTC provides with its ‘longest lasting1 battery yet’. This does increase the weight ever so slightly from 130g to 135g, but it’s certainly worth it for all that extra juice. The 2100mAh battery is built-in, so there’s no disruption to the beautiful design that HTC has crafted for the One X Plus.
In terms of design, the form factor of the One X plus remains the same as the HTC One X. However, while its height, width and screen size remain the same, the One X Plus is slimmer than the One X, measuring 8.9mm instead of 9.29mm.
As far as internal storage goes, the HTC One X again delivers the goods. Stepped up to 64GB, there’s plenty of room for music, videos and any recording that you make yourself. As with the One X, there is no MicroSD slot included, but this is accommodated for with 25GB free cloud storage with Dropbox for 2 years.

When it comes to an HTC device, you can’t mention music without talking about Beats Audio™ integration. Needless to say, this is included with HTC’s new flagship, providing deeper bass, crisper vocals and crystal clear high notes. For the complete Beats Audio™ experience, connect a pair of Beats by Dr Dre™ headphones to the 3.5mm port and you’ll be immersed in a musical experience that is near impossible to put down.
One of the standout features of the HTC One X was the camera, so this technology has of course been carried over the One X Plus. The 8MP sensor on the rear can capture four photos in the space of a second, and the front facing camera has been bumped up from 1.3 to 1.6MP. A great feature from HTC called VideoPic enables you to capture photos at the same time as recording a video, or if you shoot a video and decide after that you would like to create a photo from one of the scenes, play back the footage and grab the best photo possible from one of the recorded frames.
Another aspect of its smartphones that HTC has been keen to focus on in recent years is content consumption. With access to the Google Play Store and HTC Watch, there is a huge range of movies for you to choose from. Either watch these on the stunning display of the HTC One X Plus, or scale them up on to a big screen using an HTC MHL connector, or the HTC Media Link HD, which enables wireless streaming from the handset to your compatible HD TV.
As you would expect, the HTC One X features the same connectivity options as the HTC One X – Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3G and NFC are all included and the handset charges via MicroUSB connection. The handset takes a microSIM card, which you can obtain from your network provider for free, or create from a normal SIM-card using the micro SIM cutter.
1 HTC One™ X has up to 37% more talk time than the HTC One™ X (up to 50% for LTE version). 6 hours more talk time (LTE version) and 4.7 hours more talk time (non LTE) when compared to the HTC One™ X. Source: HTC internal testing

I have had oodles of fun getting to know it, find my fav music app (playerpro) and loading it up with all my music. Love beats, was worried that it was tied to stock player (it isn't). Screen is fantastic, crystal clear, and battery life holds up well for a while day even under pretty constant use." |
