"This is pretty cool phone! First of all I took him because of it's defense. When I opened a box it felled down on a concrete from 40cm high. Than he rolled down on another level and felled down from the high about 2 meters. But it was withoust cell and back cover (lightweight). Than I put him in a water - it's amazing :)
The sensors, soft, upgrade for 2.2 - awesome! Sony Ericsson Active is only second after Defy))

"Nice Phone! But it has so high SAR level - 1.52. For example, Samsung Memorize has 0.58. This is one thing why i still haven't buy Defy "

"Perfect phone for the outdoor adventure type. This phone has been brilliant, have had it for about 5 months now. Its taken all forms of damage from dropping in river to being crushed. The only poor bit is the charger cover becomes a bit weak after a while. Otherwise, brilliant phone!"

"Great phone to start with. After 2 weeks of normal use the earpiece volume died and made calls near impossible without using speaker phone. I sent the phone back and have been informed it is to be repaired and sent back to me in 28 days!!!!!!!! Not great service. I bet this is not an isolated incident so beware of this so called life proof phone."

"I had one of these for a few hours, as mine had the boot looping problem, but only when it had a sim card installed.
when no sim, it ran neocore @45fps which is only 10fps under the Samsung galxay s. so fast. great phone if it had not been for the booting problem. I now have a milestone and its still good, but once you have used the power of this mobile you feel let down by the milestone.
It even plays reckless racing smoother than the iphone 4 and ipod touch, I know i had the iphone 4 a few months back but got rid of it and change to a ipod touch 4 gen

"After 1 month of properly work internal speaker of telephone die. Without any symptomatic before. This is trouble very very smooth for Defy with many people "

"Alot more phone for the money than my retired Wildfire ;) Significantly faster, better screen, same size/weight.
Motoblur isn't without quirks though, miss some of HTC Sense's features, but all in all I'm pleased with the upgrade."

"I have just deferred taking an iPhone4 on contract when I heard about the Motorola Defy. Being a gardener I sometimes get wet and it was a worry to me that an expensive iPhone which I cannot afford to insure @£13 extra per month might get damaged. When I read the specs for the Defy I was astonished. It’s a well-protected mobile yet with an advanced feature set…the very thing I have been hoping for for years but doubted I would ever see. I have never had a Motorola before but all credit to them for managing to squeeze so much, including a large screen, into such a relatively small case."

I'm buying this phone because the phone I had before my current one (Moto V3x) had a ruined LCD because it got splashed by stored rainwater. My current phone (Moto RAZR2 V8) has a now a huge spiderweblike crack on the external screen.

I think this phone would suit me well.

Hopefully a Froyo update (2.2) would improve the video recording to 720p!
