Overview of Motorola XOOM
Motorola Xoom now upgradable to Android 3.1 (enables Bluetooth Mouse to be used)
The Motorola XOOM is the new Android 3.0 Honeycomb Tablet from Motorola. It is the first Android tablet with a dual-core processor, making it a very powerful piece of hardware.
So what's special about the XOOM compared to other Android tablets that are already available? For starters, it features Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) - the version of the Google OS built specifically for tablets. Current devices such as the Samsung Galaxy Tab and Huawei S7 feature Android 2.2 (FroYo), which limits the screen size to 7-inches.
Possibly the hottest tablet of 2010 was the Apple iPad. Featuring a 10.1" widescreen display, the XOOM is comparable to the iPad in size, but easily outclasses it in terms of power with its Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor. The Honeycomb tablet from Motorola also features Google's new services for music, apps and books and supports Adobe Flash Player.
With such a large screen and powerful system, the XOOM is perfect for video calling, which is made possible by a 2 Megapixel front-facing camera, WiFi & 3G connectivity. Also complementing this is a 5 Megapixel rear camera with 720p video capture. On-board memory is a staggering 32GB, so there's plenty of room for any home-made or downloaded media.
Of course, a tablet would not be complete without a range of accessories and the XOOM is not lacking on this front. The official Motorola XOOM accessories include a wireless keyboard, a standard dock and a portfolio case.

"I was away & cant write immedietly about the Moto masterpiece I purchased from Clove.co.uk. Well, as long as FREEDOM is concerned, I'm very pleased. Xoom assures you that the device belongs to YOU & not to some apple, mango, grapes & co. Its your device & you can do almost anything with that. Although i'm not too much apps geek, i like the way Xoom works. For few games, movies & browsing, I think Xoom ahs outnumbered the so called Pad in many ways. Small updates may be required, but instead of feeling that u r using some companies's tablet (which u cant use as per ur wish), better to have Moto Xoom. |
