"Firstly let me say that I have found Clove to be a first rate company to deal with. If I was in phone purchasing for a company, then I would not hesitate to use Clove.

I like Nokia because they supply the software I want to use, Maps that supply routing for free world wide, a superb camera and good battery life. I have used a N8 daily since it was released and never a minutes trouble.

I received my 920 within 18 hours of purchase so no complaints there. Would have been nice if the service provider had issued me a new sim chip as quickly, it arrived the following day.

Chip in and with a full charge showing on the battery the phone was in use. Four hours later it died with a flat battery. Usage two short text messages.

Second recharge having switched everything I could off barring the phone itself. No calls, no texts, dead in five hours.

After several day of charging I gave up and went back to the N8, almost four days on standby and a good 36 hours of normal, (for me), use.

Can I thank the guys at Clove for there assistance when I returned the phone. I hope Nokia replaced your stock as quickly as your dealt with me. Can I also ask that you let me know when the 920 is replaced as I will be in the market for another Nokia. My old N8 won't live forever.

In conclusion the star rating I give is in respect of the phone and how I found it in use, Clove get 5 stars from me."

"I'll review Clove, Windows Phone 8, and the phone separately.

Clove: Very good communication, easy to deal with. My delivery was delayed three times (a week in total) from the first shipping date given. On each occassion I got an email (but only on the day it was due to ship) even with this delay the wireless charger I ordered wasn't in stock. I accept this isn't a long delay and was more to do with Nokia than Clove, but there could be work to do with alligning shipping dates before giving them to customers. The phone shipped on a Tuesday and arrived at my door in Ireland on Thursday morning which is good going. All told though, I can accept these issues since they were well communicated and would do business with Clove again.

I was a windows phone 7 user (samsung omnia 7 that had massive updating issues, getting 'bricked' etc.). I loved what MS were trying to do with UI and hubbed native apps but was frustrated by crashes and terrible updating. From what I'd read about WP8 I thought it'd be a step up, but I wasn't holding out for a clitch free phone. I've been very impressed, I know it's a basic expectation but it's refreshing to use a phone that never stalls, lags, or crashes. So the funamentals that were missing on WP7 are all fixed. As for everything else - it's great! The hubbed idea is improved particularly in the camera app, having third party apps feed into the native camera is such a benefit, it can't be overstated. This holds true with the people hub, which even in WP7 was much better than the iOS and Android alternatives and is pretty much unchanged here. The messaging hub is updated with chat options, which work much better than I had expected, it's really easy to switch between chat and text and easy to make yourself unavailable/busy, the only downside is that Skype, Gtalk, Whatsapp and Viber aren't tied into the hub (yet). So they still run as standalone apps (although there's no gtalk app). The User Interface is also beautiful, live tiles work really well (I hate Android widgets because they always seems too customizable, one home screen with live tiles, one list screen works much better than it sounds). So that's all the good stuff (also the camera hub is great, but thats well documented everywhere it seems), apps have been advertised as the real downside to WP8, in comparison to iOs this is definitely true (I haven't used Android long enough to compare, although it is annoying that simply having an android phone means all android apps will work so that should be taken into account when comparing on this measure). For me apps probably aren't the most important thing, I don't go downloading a new game every week to keep me occupied, but what I do like is the real functional apps. So to compare the app I use on my iPad versus my new Lumia 920: Newsreader is Zite on both (a great app by the way). I have whatsapp and viber on both devices. Netflix, Shazam, Evernote, Skype, TED, Map My Run, IMDb are all available on both operating systems as well. Sky Go isn't available on windows phone but other than that I would say the apps I use most are all present and correct. I don't use Twitter much so the standard client is fine, I find the facebook app very good and the nokia exclusive apps are exceptional and go a long way to justifying (at least part of) the outlay for this phone. The store itself is poorly laid out which doesn't help WP's case (especially when everywhere else the interface is excellent).

Finally the phone. The first thing you'll notice is the weight. It is a heavy phone, that said after a day two with the phone I didn't notice. Even then though, when I pick up my girlfriends iPhone that feels light as feather in comparison. Next you'll notice that it's big, this is a positive as it fits easily in one hand and the pocket. So it's probably as big a screen as you could fit comfortably. The screen itself is great, most review have noted that the marginal improvement in PPI over the iPhone isn't noticable, but to be honest it was immediate to me. Bear in mind I was comparing to an iPhone 4s and not the iPhone 5 so maybe the difference isn't noticable then. Sensitivity to touch is brilliant too. The camera is exceptional, and the nokia pre-loaded lens really add to it, some are more fun than particularly useful but Smart Shoot and the Panarama are really impressive. (one note on the panorama though having to always move left to right is a mark against, though you'd probably get used to it). Aside from that the hardware stays out of the way, the battery lasts a little over a full day of playing with it, and I've easily lasted more than two by being careful of it.

I know this is a long review, but when I was thinking of making my purchase I went reading through for actual user reviews, so hopefully this will help someone. My advice is to go for this phone. I went with Windows Phone first out of nerdy curiosity about what they were doing with, but now its not just an alternative to iPhone (which is how I see Android) but as a fundamentally different approach, which is better in many respects (and doubtless will, and should, be copied)."

Firstly the aesthetic design externally is beautifully crafted. It just oozes slick.
secondly the Windows OS is vibrant, refreshingly new and a doddle to operate.
I have been on Apples OS for many, many years and I am so pleased I tried something new!
Any prospective buyer will not be disappointed I assure you. "

I had my phone for a about two weeks and the "Internet Sharing" feature did not work. My exchange with Nokia has been less than stellar to say the least. When I first contacted them, they told me that they would get back to me in 24-48 business hours. Instead they responded in 10 day! In order to remain inside of my return window I had to send the phone back prior to hearing from them. They did eventually confirm the issue. They said it would be fixed in an update (1st Qtr 2013). I asked if they would refund my costs for having to send the phone back or at least issue a discount on a future product (like a headset) in the amount of my shipping costs. They will do nothing of the like. Then they tried to recant what the first support rep said and try to tell me that the problem might have occurred because I was in the USA. I then proceeded to send them proof that the issue was documented not only on their Nokia forum site but also at a number of other forums. I have had a number of email exchanges with them. My last exchange was the phone (which was also ten days from when I was to hear from someone). The sad reality is the phone is very promising and overall I really enjoyed it. Clove Technology has been more then stellar in this entire ordeal. I still rate the phone as a 4 (as to not be biased by my poor Nokia customer service experience). It does lack apps but I believe they will come in time if the demand for apps on Windows Phone grows). I rate Nokia support with ZERO stars. I rate Clove with 5 stars.

"I have had this phone about 1 month now and still loving everyday with it. I had a N8 before and battery life is very simaler everthing else is much better. Windows missing a few like speedial but everything not standared can be added quite easy. A great phone I would recommend to anybody. Apps quite a bit of an issue but so far having found myself in need of anything beyond what on the market, tunein radio and whatsapp was the major app issue and that is resolved now. Firstly great deal by Clove, had previously ordered from digital-phone at £570. Originally ordered the yellow version but they couldn't get any stock, got an email telling me they have secured white stock and to call and they would swap the order over. Called and customer service was very poor, said I had to cancel the original order and then reorder the white version. Outcome was I cancelled and looked elsewhere, found clove and hey presto

So me, I'm disabled and have fairly poor hand dexterity so a big phone with a bit weight in it is good for me. Honestly I don't find the phone that heavy so I don't know where all the weight jibes come from. Camera is the best camera I have ever had on a phone. As for battery life, turn on the battery saver and make sure you give the phone a good couple of charges, battery life is good. As for the live tiles I love them, organise as you wish, delete what you don't need, resize and play around with your homescreen

I had a screen protector on mine to begin with but had to remove it, incoming calls cancelled fine but any outgoing calls I made I could not end the call. Seems the proximity sensor is fairly sensitive and the screen protector was confusing it

I love the way my phone syncs with windows 8 on my pc, no need to hook up, calendar and contacts are automatically synced, photos are automatically sent to skydrive. Amazing and so simple

Lastly I just purchased the Tech21 black snap on case which arrived today, red and black, a great colour combination

Best phone on the market at present, beats iPhone 5 hands down

I am very pleased with the Nokia 920 and find the build quality is extremely good, I find the display particularly good although the blacks are not as good as an Amoled screen it is a pleasure to be able to use the phone in direct sunlight!
The Email application is also very good and inputting info on the virtual keyboard is near perfect, the voice recognition also works extremely well.
All in all it is a very impressive and polished device well done Nokia."

People complained about 4G not being there as an option, I think its to do with the network in your area. I think the phone will pickup 4G once you insert a 4G enabled SIM and are in the LTE coverage area. I think 4G SIMs are 128KB and I don't have one so no way to test it.

"A fantastic device. I am really pleased to be back on Nokia after nearly 2 years with Apple iPhone and 3 months with HTC (Android) I am impressed with Windows Phone 8 and the device.

Battery life is fantastic. The Camera is a pleasure to use and I simply love the Metro Interface. There are some important Apps missing but I remember when Apple launched their App store and it had some sad apps and the current number of Mac apps is pathetic as well so its going to be a while before they can catch up but all the basics for a smartphone are there.

I hardly notice the weight but I definitely notice the turning heads of people on the tube. "

Great phone, Jeffrey clearly has a bad device and for some insane reason thinks all other 920s are like his.
Personally I love the phone, great screen, perfect homescreen UI, build quality is stellar, its fast as all hell, and a joy to use.

However, my device only had 2g/3g options under settings, which Im told is a sign that the phone isnt 4G-enabled, which the salespitch for the phone suggests that it is.
Any comment on that from Clove?

"My first unit has suffered a non working camera (re-booted to life) lock ups (4 in a week) and battery drain. These do seem to be a common issue on the handset, but please remember, its a brand new OS and hardware, there will be problems. I'm sure they will be fixed with an update.
That aside, the phone really is very nice. As a business phone it's great.. especially in the car with Bluetooth connected, it reads text messages to you and you can dictate and send a reply without touching the phone.. There is a lack of apps, but nothing that would put you off and now the WP8 is out in the real world, I'm sure there will be lots of software engineers working on apps for the OS.
I have to say, Clove have been very good throughout the whole returns process, so nothing but high recommends for them as a business. "

A review from an actual owner!
It's a great phone, and a nice upgrade from my SGSII but it's not for everybody.
It *is* heavy, but it is rock solid in build, fit and finish. It feels extremely executive. I could imagine this (in black) being the phone Batman would own.
I haven't had any major software issues, but have had a few annoying quirks here and there which I haven't resolved.
There is a genuine lack of apps but I haven't run into any major hiccups except the TOTAL LACK OF PODCASTING OPTIONS (even the third party podcast apps I have found won't automatically download the latest episodes for me.)
I run with 4 mailboxes, facebook, twitter and linkedin plus an hour of podcast/audiobook/xbox music on my commute by train (through several roaming areas and a lot of 3G 'effort' to find transmitters) to work in the morning. As such, I need to start charging the phone by 3pm (much like my SGSII) but despite all of this I feel this has been a very worthy upgrade.

I was suspecting, before receiving the phone, that I'd hate it and send it back. Truth be told I have already happily spent £15 on apps, so it's going nowhere.

Spend some time with a friend's one before you buy it, check the apps available via the WindowsPhone marketplace online, but if you fancy a change then give it a go. What's the worst that can happen? :)
