The original Samsung Galaxy Tab (P1000) was one of the first iPad alternatives to hit the market and proved to be a popular very device. While most of the new iPad competitors offer a screen size of around 10", Samsung has stuck to its pioneering 7" design and created the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7.
So what's special about the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7? First of all there's the screen. With a 7.7" Super AMOLED Plus display the new Galaxy Tab features the best screen of any tablet PC to date. This provides better viewing angles than ever before, so you'll be able to make better use of the Tab 7.7 whether indoors or out.
It's not only the display, but also the physical design of the Tab 7.7 that has been improved. Its sleek, metal finish screams quality and its slight figure, which measures under 8mm in thickness and weighs just 335 grams, really does give the new tablet from Samsung a build quality to shout about.
As you would expect from a 7" tablet, the Galaxy Tab 7.7 runs Google Android 3.2 Honeycomb and it also comes with Samsung's TouchWiz UX custom Android skin. This is powered by a 1.4GHz dual core processor, using the same chipset that powers its smaller scale sibling, the Samsung Galaxy Note.
The large internal storage (16GB) of the Tab 7.7 combines with its 5500mAh battery to make it a powerful multimedia device. With a range of playback options and the ability to play up to 10 hours of video from one charge, you'll have plenty of options to watch movies, listen to music and browse the web. With Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and HSPA connectivity there are also plenty of options to share media and connect to other devices.

Recommend to a friend? Yes ""mixed bag" - the device is excellent; great screen, great battery life - very responsive. The support is dire - it locked and overheated after 28 days. Samsung lost the details of the first call; Anovo have now lost the device. I fear Samsung a growing too fast and becoming another large careless supplier" |
