Continuing the Xperia range, the Xperia T will be the flagship device, essentially superseding the Xperia S.
The Xperia S is still a very powerful smartphone, but the Xperia T has the edge with a few technical and design enhancements.
Gone is the transparent bar and the squared design of the existing devices . The Xperia T has a more curved design that harks back to the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc.
Such a design makes the device not only look more impressive, it makes it feel more comfortable in hand too.
Like other Xperia devices, the T runs the Google Android operating system. Highly customisable, powerful and rapidly expanding, Android devices give you have access to hundreds of thousands of apps through Google Play Store, many of which are FREE.
A number of applications including Gmail, GTalk, YouTube, Maps and Navigation come pre-installed on the device to make for simple and convenient use straight out of the box.
Using a mobile data connection and the Sony Xperia T’s in built GPS receiver you can navigate all over the world from point A to B via C if you so choose thanks to Google Maps.
An expansive 4.55” touchscreen display, with Sony Mobile BRAVIA technology, makes on screen content a pleasure to view with rich natural colours. Whether you are sending a text, browsing the web or watching a film on the device, the screen intelligently handles colours to give you an exceptional viewing experience.
Stream content from the web over 3G or WiFi, or upload images, documents and more to the web using the same connections. Receive the latest social network status updates and your emails directly to your handset, wherever you may be (connection required).
On board the device is 16GB of internal storage, but there is the option to expand this through a microSDHC card slot that supports cards up to 32GB in capacity. There is also 50GB of FREE cloud storage available for life (subject to registration before December 31st 2012) as an additional option for storing those all important files.
With a 13 megapixel camera that records video in full 1080p HD it is quite likely that you will need to use these storage options.
Whilst sharing your content online is part and parcel of the Xperia T, you can also share whatever you wish to do on the phone with an HD display. Connect the Xperia T to an HD display using a HDTV/MHL cable or adapter (sold separately) to enhance your experience of the Xperia T. Ideal if at home or away on business and you wish to watch a film or view some photos you have taken. Or, use a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse and make the Xperia T your workhorse for office documents and presentations.
The Xperia T is PlayStation certified too, so you can load some of the best console games on your mobile through the PlayStation store. Imagine this connected to the HD display!
Xperia T comes with the new “WALKMAN” app. Fill it with your playlists, or tap into one of Sony's, and get album art and artist info in the process. See what your friends are listening to. Can’t get enough? Go further into Music Unlimited and choose from millions of songs. When you’ve found the right track, crank it up with xLoud loudness enhancement, get it just right with graphic equalisers, and enjoy soul shaking clarity. Or connect to wireless speakers and use your phone as the ultimate DJ deck.
With a dual-core 1.5GHz processor under the skin and a 1850mAh battery there should be no lag in performance and a battery life that will last provide a day's use for most people.
A superb looking phone that offers lots of features, the Xperia T is the logical evolution of the Xperia range of smartphones. The Xperia T is James Bond’s latest phone. If it is good enough for him, is it good enough for you?
