Overview of the repair service
Only Available for the Psion Revo, it is no longer possible to repair the Psion 5mx or earlier devices.
Standard Service for Revo, Revo Plus
The most common failure with older Psions is the screen ribbon. Due to this the repair centre have included this in the Standard Service repair. A screen ribbon fault is recognisable by horizontal lines on the screen. This service does not include screen replacement.
The Standard Service covers most repairs except physical damage to the screen itself. It includes (but is not limited to) cosmetic damage, broken hinges and springs, faulty infrared and serial ports, broken keyboards, circuit board damage and screen ribbon. If your machine has more than one fault, all faults will be repaired under the one service charge. Parts and labour are included in the price.
For this service we require the following information: the serial number of the Psion and a short description of the fault should be stated in the "Addtional Comments" box when placing your order.
Instructions for the repair service
- Once we have received your repair service order (with serial number and fault description) a repair docket will be created. This repair document will then be sent to you, along with packaging, enabling you to send your machine directly to the service centre (at your own cost).
- Your machine will be repaired as quickly as possible - usually within 2-3 working days
- Whilst we will make every attempt to preserve your data, we cannot be held responsible for any data loss incurred during a repair.
- Do not include any peripherals, compact flash cards or stylus pens when sending your machine in for servicing. If you have a carry case for your machine we recommend you send it in the case.
- We recommend that you ship your Psion via Royal Mail Special Delivery service if shipping within the UK. Special Delivery guarantees next day delivery and requires a signature on receipt. The Track and Trace service available on Royal Mail's website allows you to check delivery status.
Overseas customers should ensure that any Customs Declaration forms state 'Organiser for Repair.'
