Overview of Samsung Omnia II I8000

The Samsung Omnia II I8000 is the follow up to the Samsung Omnia. The device boasts a strong feature set, including a 3.7" 480 x 800 pixel display, larger and sharper than that of the iPhone 3G S. Samsung's AMOLED technology makes use of features such as 'Resistive Touch', making navigation with the phone's touchscreen more accurate. The improved touchscreen will also make web browsing better than ever on a Samsung device, operating on the powerful Opera browser.

AMOLED (Active Organic Light Emitting Diode) technology is a feature being incorporated into an increasing number of Samsung's new devices. This new technology produces brighter colours, consumes substantially less power and has a faster response time. The thickness of an AMOLED screen is less than half as thick as TFT LCD's, which are currently standard issue in most devices. Images can be viewed from any angle on an AMOLED screen, also making it ideal for viewing dynamic movies without afterimages. 

The Windows Mobile 6.5 Operating System means that the Samsung Omnia II I8000 is not only a great multimedia device, but one of productivity as well. With Samsung's TouchWiz interface also integrated, the phone not only has depth in its features but quick and easy access to them. Samsung have opted to include a modest 5 Megapixel Camera with the Omnia II, but the Dual LED Flash and a range of features make sure that picture quality is on par with many 8 Megapixel devices.

The Samsung Omnia II I8000 can playback most media types, which is complemented by the option to expand the device's memory up to 32GB. As well as this is a 1500mAh battery, providing up to 10 Hours talktime on 3G and 18 hours standby time. The connectivity range of the Omnia II means that you will never be without internet use. As well as USB connection, WiFi and Bluetooth, the device has 3.5G Data capability, with 7.2 Mbps HSDPA and 5.7 Mbps HSUPA data speeds.

"There are insignificant CONS: - no DPAD; - in order to change micro-SD card you should open back cover of the device; - there could be 2 more hardware buttons to use; - stylus is separated from device. Despite of this I8000 is - no doubt - one of the best all-in-one (TV-out incl.) devices of this autumn. All is well-balanced. Display colours are beautiful. Battery life is good. Service of "CLOVE Technology" is fine and fast (as also previously). Thank you. If you don't need hardware keyboard (on-screen keyboard is enough for you) then device is highly recommended.
