"Stylish, functional and its a BlackBerry, what more can I say.
Yes image is important to me, but this Bold has some serious features...I am still getting to grips with many but email so simple. O and you can really easily update Facebook"
Sebastian (Doncaster)
"Just got this after owning the iphone. I loved the iPhone from a style perspective, but my podgy thumbs didnt get on with the on-screen keyboard.
I took the plunge and got the Bold 9700. Its not as stylish, but at my age I have other things to worry about over style!
Its good, keys could be bigger, but I am much more productive with this than the iPhone."
James (Liverpool)
"You want one of these. Had mine a matter of minutes nd I am in LOVE. I owned the original Bold 9000, but the bold 2, is sensations with the optical joystick and HVGA display."
Geoff (Derby)
"As a regional sales manager I am always on the road and constantly in contact wih my team of 45 nd email can become a real nightmare, but the Bold 9700, which I think some people call the Bold2 is so helpful. It isnt the cheapest solution but it works so well, especially as out company has all the technology to set it up and get it working.
I would be lost without this Bold, it just works."
Kim (Southampton)
"This is really a tremendous machine. I had the Blackberry Curve 8900 before, which was good, but the Bold 9700 is a real upgrade.
Ergonomically, the keyboard is designed for fast typing, whilst the casing is rugged. The new 'mouse pad' which has replaced the rollerball on the 8900, works a treat and you can adjust it depending on finger sensitivity.
The battery life is also excellent, even if you leave the wi-fi on. In fact I think it has the best battery life of any Blackberry since the days of the jog wheel. Only Bluetooth seems to hit battery life. Unlike the Bold 9000 (its predecessor, battery life does not go down if you switch on the turbo-fast 3G network, which of course, allows you to read internet pages that much faster. The 3G comes into its own when you are emailing photos to contacts, or to Facebook and Twitter - something which is incredibly easy and quick to do.
This Bold has an operating system which been refined and it is more evolutionary than revolutionary. Nevertheless, it is much better. Faster between applications and better navigation. I particularly like the ability it gives you to choose which email accounts go into the main email envelope. You can choose to opt that some or none go in, thus having all your email icons separate on the screen. Internet is excellent, and I save all my bookmarks and simply download them from a back-up file on my computer (aka my previous 8900).
Blackberry Apps, whilst not as good as Apple, still give you some great choices. I have downloaded numerous news sites from the UK and USA, and a great new GPS prog called SmartNav. This allows you to call an operator, which sends the directions straight to your Blackberry. Google sync is great as it allows you to sync your calendar and contacts from your google account over the air. I had some problems with this, which were sorted by adjusting the APN settings. These can be found on the internet.
If I had any gripes it is that the apps memory remains low to store applications. Why limit it, when you can add up to 16 Gigabytes Memory Card. Like the I-phone, it should be as much as the memory disc allows.
Also, Blackberry, must improve their camera. This Bold offers a 3.2 million pixel camera(albeit with zoom and flash). Adequate but not good for doing serious photos and emailing from your phone. Future Blackberries must ne 5 million and above, otherwise they will fail to compete with the likes of Sony Ericsson and Nokia.
This aside, you can't go wrong with this Blackberry. Its efficient, the email system is still the best anywhere, and it is an excellent phone. In the palm of your hand, you have a pocket computer, email machine, and much more.
Real value for money, especially ona phone contract.
