BlackBerry KEY2 Main Banner

BlackBerry KEY2 SIM Free UK

In 2017, a rejuvenated BlackBerry - the brand now under the stewardship of TCL - released the BlackBerry KEYone.

Part classic BlackBerry with a traditional physical keyboard and part modernised Android device, no-one can doubt that this beautiful chimaera has been a success, selling in high enough numbers for the BlackBerry brand to continue marching on.

An Icon Reborn

BlackBerry hit on a winning formula with the KEYone, so it makes sense to keep the new KEY2 very similar. Very little has changed about the design, with just simple refinements to the casing and keyboard developed to enhance ergonomics.

The QWERTY keyboard itself now has a matte finish and the keys themselves are larger and slightly less pronounced. This makes for a flatter profile and allows for more accurate positioning when using the built-in trackpad for cursor placement.

Screen size remains the same, as do the physical dimensions, although the edges and corners have all been rounded off and softened. The new KEY2 is therefore much more comfortable to hold, plus it's a good 12 grams lighter than the original.

BlackBerry KEY2 is also Android Enterprise Recommended from the moment it's been announced.

Order BlackBerry KEY2

The BlackBerry KEY2 is available to order from Clove Technology in both Black and Silver editions. Initial UK stock is Single SIM (BBF100-1) with 64GB storage and 6GB RAM

Dual SIM Models

BlackBerry manufacture Single SIM and Dual SIM (BBF100-6) versions of the KEY2. We now have both models available with a UK QWERTY keyboard.

BlackBerry KEY2 Price

The BlackBerry KEY2 Single SIM RRP in the UK is £579 including VAT. For international customers outside of Europe or VAT-exempt customers, you can order at £482.50. The Dual SIM is currently £619.

Bought the Key2 Black from Clove, one of several products that I've bought from them over they years.

As far as Clove service, it continues to be superb. Items are in stock, prices are good and the delivery is fast.

As far as the Key2, my wife upgraded from the Priv and absolutely loves it. I did the setup and worked with the phone for a solid 2 days, I have another Android phone, non Blackberry, and I didn't want to give up the Key2, it's very enjoyable to use.

She's very happy, and said that the keyboard, in particular, is fantastic. The shortcuts and convenience key rock. She switches between different languages and travels to the U.K. so the Key2 is really quite good for multi-lingual suport.

What's nice about the dedicated keyboard is that you don't lose the screen real estate. You get a full 4.5" all the time, nobody mentions that, but most of the time other phones must shrink the real estate when the digital keyboard comes up. Also, some reviewers dissed the 3:2 aspect ratio, but because this is a working device, it is much easier to read docs, PDFs and news articles... that's the point of it, and it's a good thing. This is not a gaming phone, nor the best phone if you want to watch a lot of movies.

I could go on, but my main observation, to get the most out of the Key2, is that you have to put the time into it. A good proper setup and organization of apps, setting up the short-cuts, determining your workflow, engaging all the privacy features and plowing though google to turn-off all the tracking "features". Without doing this, particulary for a Blackberry device, I think will limit the happiness vs. another device. Because this is more of a working device and not a gaming/play device, it just requires more thought in how to utilize and incorporate into your personal and worklife.

Upgrading from Keyone I must say better processor and more RAM really make this phone so much more responsive to the touch. No lag whatsoever! And the redesigned keyboard is much more comfortable, almost as good as the Classic.
Anyway, Key2 is getting praise in all on-line reviews, so I just add a few words of praise for Clove.
Being their customer for some 10 years I always experienced first class service from them and super fast shipping even with the cheapest option!
