Description

Honor 5C (Sim Free/UK)

Advances in technology allow for more feature rich, capable and desirable phones to be produced and sold at a lower cost.

The Honor 5C is a fantastic example of just this, offering what only 6-12 months ago could have cost twice the price.

Punchy performance a sharp screen and Dual SIM connectivity are just some of the highlights on offer here.

SIM Free /Unlocked UK Stock

Clove Technology pride ourselves on providing UK-specification SIM free / unlocked phones, directly from the manufacturer and their preferred UK supply chain. The Honor 5C is no exception to this rule.

This is a dual SIM (standby) enabled smartphone. You can run two SIM cards in the phone at the same time, useful for keeping work and personal numbers separate but active, or perhaps having a backup network in place for if you travel regularly and network signal changes.

The 5C is certified for use on all UK and European networks, as well as compatible EMEA regions.

For 4G / LTE support outside of Europe, please check the phone specifications against your local operator's frequency provisions

Overview

Honor remain a relatively new brand within the UK and Europe but a brand that is rapidly growing and evolving bringing smartphones with features and specifications that would typically not be associated with the price they are sold at.

A division of telecommunications giant Huawei, Honor offer exceptional value for money whilst retaining the high standards in product quality and customer support.

Dual SIM

The 5C is a Dual SIM smartphone.

Unlike many mobile phones where you can only have one SIM card in the handset at any one time, with the 5C you can have 2 nano SIM cards in the handset.

You may have a personal and work SIM. Maybe a UK and international SIM or one for calls and messages and another for mobile data, the choice is yours.

Manage which SIM does what or have it ask each time, you are in control.

Full HD Display

4G enabled this smartphone has a large and immersive 5.2” full HD display which means 423 pixels per inch.

Superb detail brings clarity and sharpness to all that is shown on screen.

Movies and videos look great, images are punchy and text clear.

You can even control the colour temperature to your liking, so you have it set just the way you want, it is your phone after all!

Android & Emotion UI

The screen acts as the gateway to the mobile interface. The 5C has the very popular Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) installed onto the internal memory with a few customisations provided by Huawei through their emotion UI.

From maps, to music to email to books, you have access to Google’s suite of services and of course the Play Store which contains all of the paid and free apps of which there are countless.

Emotion UI 4.1 takes the Android system and looks to add value to you with new features including scrolling screen shots and screen recording.

Elegant Ergonomic Design

Your smartphone goes through a lot and typically is a statement of you and your personality.

The Honor 5C ensures that you look the part with this in hand.

Framing the screen and all the powerful internals is an aircraft grade aluminium body with a brushed metal effect.

Ridged edges provides grip and a scratch resistant coating ensures the 5C stands the test of time.

This metal finish is available in 3 colour options, silver, gold and grey.

Small Chip, BIG Punch

Built into the metal body are the powerful internals which includes the high performance, all new and next-generation, Kirin 650 chipset.

Lightning fast performance compared with the previous generation.

A leading-edge octa-core chip delivers a 65% performance boost and 40% lower power consumption. Made up of four 2.0GHZ high performance cores and supported by four 1.7GHz lower performance, high efficiency cores, you can expect great performance from the 5C for all your tasks and even gaming; which benefits from a 100% increase in GPU performance compared to Kirin 620.

Stunning Selfies, Perfect Pics

We all snap more pictures than ever before, and why not. There are a lot of great moments to remember and share.

Selfies might be a bit of a thing, but a fad or not, the Honor 5C offers up an 8 megpaixel front facing camera with F2.0 aperture and a 77 degree field of view for better lit shots and capturing more of the scene.

Automatic scene recognition and 10 beauty modes will allow for those images to look better than ever and be worth of a few likes!

A four element lens on the front and 5 element lens on the rear helps provide crystal clear images.

Rated at 13 megapixels the rear camera has a F2.0 aperture for more light capture and a 78 degree field of view.

We all end up touching the camera lens as we pull our phone out of pockets or bags or simply handle it. The 5C has an anti-reflective, oleophobic and infrared absorbing lens coating to reduce glare and fingerprints, so those photos in the sun or the sunsets should look super.

Honors’s Smart image 3.0 processor brings with it creative filters and shooting modes such as light painting mode that gives you manual control of the shutter for long exposure shots.

Store all these photos and videos on the 16GB of internal memory, or insert a microSD memory card in the 5C if you need more space. Do be aware, if you want to use a microSD you will have to forgo use of the 2nd SIM slot.

Next-level Connectivity

The 5C is a phone as well as a tool for your business and personal life.

Taking all the expertise from Huawei the 5C incorporates a dual antenna system that automatically switches to the antenna with the best signal so you experience no more dropped calls and great mobile internet connectivity.

You will likely also find their network technology will result in less power drain too!

Other connections like WiFi and Bluetooth are also present.

A microUSB connector is the physical connection for charing and data transfer the old fashioned way.

Powerful And Immersive Sound

When you want to enjoy some music or just listen back to some audio, the 5C has you covered here too. An integrated speaker box with smart power amplifier and bottom-speaker design gives more powerful, clearer audio and Huawei’s super wide sound (SWS) technology to produce a rich and immersive audio experience with reduced noise and distortion.

Stronger Performance, Longer Life

The 8.3mm thickness of the 5C does too accommodate the larger 3,000mAh battery that will last up to 1.3 days for even a heavy user thanks to ‘Doze’ a feature of Android 6 and Huawei’s Smart Power 3.0.

The 40% more efficient processor should help a lot too!

I have had my Honor 5C for a week now.

The size and weight are ideal for me.
    Performance is excellent.
    Screen resolution is great.
Battery life OK ( I’ve not used Android for a while so am not sure on what to expect ).
Camera is much improved on other mobiles I have used.
The HiSuite software used to link the phone with a PC is excellent.

I did have one issue yesterday - when I unplugged the phone from the charger the phone hung and I had to reboot by keeping the on/off button down for quite a while. When the phone did come back, I found my email account ( and related contacts ) had been removed from the email application. Not sure if this was an Android or a phone issue.
