Moto 360

Moto 360 Overview

The Motorola Moto 360 has a design that captured imaginations early in 2014. With a true circular screen, that captures the classic and timeless styling of a traditional timepiece, the Moto 360 has a comfortable and recognisable form to provide you with information, without drawing undue attention.

The Android Wear system allows wearables to deliver quick and simple access to your notifications, updates and specific search information at a glance. With the Moto 360 you can respond to messages, accept or discard incoming calls, keep track of weather, traffic or flight updates, and so much more. App developers are adding support for Android Wear every day to ensure you can maintain a seamless experience from smartphone to watch and obtain the information you require, when you need it.

Premium build quality

Smartwatches have long struggled with looking like toys or geeky gadgets only for the 'tech savvy'. Not so any more; Android Wear made smartwatches easy to understand, and the Moto 360 makes them easy to wear. With stainless steel casing and Horween® leather, every Moto 360 looks and feels like a designer quality watch rather than a simple gadget. The added benefit of Corning® Gorilla® Glass above the touchscreen also helps avoid scratching your new purchase.

Listen and respond

Android Wear delivers more than just notifications and updates. The system is always waiting for your voice and input, no matter the situation. Just say "OK Google" and you Moto 360 will pop into life waiting for your instructions. From here you can choose to send a text, email or make a call with a simple phrase such as "OK Google, call Dan xxx". You can also make weather requests, web searches or ask for directions: "OK Google, show me the nearest cinema".

When you make a request like this, it's actually the phone in your bag or pocket doing the heavy lifting, with the Moto 360 being able to show you the information and respond in an intuitive manner, through Android Wear.

You can also use Android Wear's built in fitness tracking technology to help you reach your goals. WIth the Moto 360 you can take advantage of the Heart Activity app, to monitor your heart rate throughout the day. The information can sync up to your phone and allows you to monitor and adjust to daily or weekly benchmarks.

The Motorola Moto 360 makes use of inductive wireless charging to keep itself topped up. In the box you'll find a neat docking station to keep plugged into the mains power. You can drop the Moto 360 onto this each night and the metal contacts on its back will draw the juice it needs to get you through another day.

It was my 3rd Motorola pre-order from Clove and I think all 3 were delayed. Not a surprise considering it's an American company. Anyway, got the watch a few days ago. Like the looks, like how it saves my time (no need to take the phone from the pocket for most cases) and really like the round screen. You can call me a watch lover - think I've been wearing those since I started walking. My small collection has a few options and one expensive watch even. However, the reason for this was that I got bored of looking at the same face on regular basis - now I'm sure I won't wear a single "regular" watch again since Moto 360 has quite many different faces and you can install some more. But since I rated this device 4 stars - there are some negatives. The biggest for me is occasional lags. They aren't too bad, really, but there is a noticeable difference if compared to my Sony Z3 Compact. Another "issue" is that famous black stripe at the bottom of the screen. Yeah, it kind of makes some dials look broken, but I still prefer Moto 360 to round LG watch - it just looks so much better. Haven't used it for too long, but the battery life looks decent - I'm 5,5 hours on the battery now and have 82 percent left. Not sure if this device can last for 2 days, but considering I don't wear watch at night - doesn't bother be. Shouldn't be a problem when travelling too - I think everyone has a Micro USB charger when travelling and taking a really small Moto 360 charger stand (it has a Micro USB hole so any charger will work) won't be an issue. All in all I'm happy with my purchase and want to thank Clove for great service - I've been kept up-to-date on when the first stock is expected and got the device shortly after it was shipped. Can also recommend it as a gift - the box alone looks so cool that it's worth buying it. Oh, and there are more improvements I would like to see, but all of them are just Android Wear functionality. For example, answering a call from your watch doesn't turn the loudspeaker on your phone. But Motorola has nothing to go with this. until Google make such improvements - there are free apps solving those small issues.
