Purchased this phone for use in Canada and can confirm it works just fine on the Koodo network.
Shipping from the UK to Ontario was insanely fast. The phone arrived safely with no signs of damage to the box or packaging. It worked right out of the box upon turning on the power, and I was able to insert my existing sim card from my current phone plan in just a few moments. After confirming everything was operational, I flashed the device with e os and am now happily using a de-googled, sustainable smartphone.
I am considering ordering more units for other people here who want to join the fairphone mission, but will most likely order the 3+. Wish clove sold the individual replacement parts so that I can upgrade my own cameras, but sadly I will need to ship them from another retailer.
Even though the phone is less powerful than its competitors in the same price range, I find it largely sufficient for a "normal" usage. In my opinion having more computational power would only benefit for heavy video games, but playing thel on a phone seems a terrible idea in the first place.
The hardware is not cheap, the screen feels great. Yes the camera is not the best on the market, but it is decent enough (and honestly, if you really want to take quality pictures, get a real camera).
The only details I don't like is the lack of control on some mechanisms, like not being able to deactivate the blinking LED when the phone is in low battery mode, or not being able to deactivate the vibration when using the fingerprint sensor.
Great phone, great value. Works a treat. Very fair.... basically what it says on the box.
I switched from an iPhone X to the Fairphone 3, while transferring stuff was a little difficult, however after getting all my apps installed and logged in, and organizing my main screen, i function very well with it. I cannot wait to change over the /e/os which is an operating system that is android essentially without google, which is awesome for anyone who is privacy conscious.
On the subject of logistics, Clove responded quickly, and gave detailed information. Even though i paid for expedited shipping it would have still shipped fairly quickly into the US.
I would recommend the fairphone who wants to support ethically made phones, and is tired of paying for expensive repairs/products.
