LG G Pad 8.3 Overview
Mobile devices are changing our interactions with computing every day and tablets are the best current example of convergence in the digital world. Finding something the right size with enough power can be hard, however LG think they've cracked it with the G Pad.
It's tough to stand out from the tablet crowd, yet the G Pad brings LG's top quality design credentials to the forefront. Recently applauded by critics for their beautiful G2 smartphone, the G pad is one of the best looking Android tablets to be released in recent times. Measuring in at just 216.8 x 126.5 x 8.3 mm and 240 grams, G Pad can be held in one hand and features an incredibly thin bezel around the 8.3" screen.
On the subject of the screen it is a full HD IPS display with a resolution of 1920x1200 with a 273 PPI, so images will be crisp and vibrant. Be it images or video, you will be impressed with the playback.
Should you get interrupted, during playback, you can simply pause it by looking away from the device and resume playback by looking back at the tablet. This is just one of many useful features built into the G Pad. Other enhancements include the ability to translate voice or text on documents or objects using the camera and Q Translator.
You can capture memos with Q Memo and share them wirelessly with your LG mobile device thanks to Q Pair. Easily access open apps and windows with SlideAside, whilst QSlide allows you to control up to 4 slides on the same screen at any one time for the ultimate multi-tasking experience.
The G Pad is not just an Android tablet, it is a tablet that has been designed with function and performance in mind. It has standard Android features, but LG has customised it to give you additional value.
How handy would it be, to be notified of an incoming call on your phone whilst using the tablet? The G Pad can do this as well as allow you to reply to text messages.
Of course we consume more media now than ever before and the G Pad handles this too. We can access and watch or listen to media on the device and with dual stereo speakers, the G Pad ensures audio playback is loud and more immersive, whilst Slimport, through the MicroUSB, means that you can connect the tablet to an even larger HD display if you desire (cable required).
The G Pad, like the G2 smartphone, has Q-Remote, allowing you to control lots of your home audio visual equipment. Do away with conventional remote controls and use the tablet to control it all.
With 16GB of internal storage and additional expansion available with a MicroSD memory card (sold separately) the G Pad is perfect for business and personal use alike with the ability to store games, apps, documents, media and more.
The G Pad 8.3 has a rear facing 5 megapixel and front facing 1.3 megapixel camera, so, should you need to, you can make video calls (via WiFi) or capture images when out and about.
All of this in a device that weighs 345g and has a 4600mAh battery built in, capable of lasting just as long as competing tablets.
The true benefits of the G Pad are not realised until you get your hands on one.
