The Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus's screen measures a huge 5.8 inches. If you think that might be too big, just wait until you physically see the phone.

With their 3D glass and Edge technology, Samsung has become incredibly adept at fitting a big screen in a body that belies its size. Research and Development have gone into further miniaturising common internal components, so the screen can be stretched right to the edge. 

This new screen has a unique 18.5: 9 screen ratio, making it taller than before. Plus with practically zero edge bezel and only minimal edges to the top and bottom, almost the entire front surface of the phone is the screen.

Biometrics

Fingerprint sensors have become increasingly common, with every major smartphone release.

Previously located on the physical home button, Samsung's move to an integrated touch button on the screen has forced the fingerprint sensor to move.  It can now be located on the back of the phone next to the camera lens.

If you want to try other unlock and security methods, then Samsung definitely has you covered.  

Last year's Iris scanner returns for a front-facing unlock option. If you happen to be too far from the screen, then there is also an improved face-unlock engine. Much improved upon Android's own face-recognition, Samsung's system has a much higher positive detection rate. 

There is a tier of security in place, so face-unlock will only work for home screen access. Online payments and any other features that require user authentication will still require fingerprint, iris or the user's back up PIN/password.
