Reasons to buy HTC One M8

Not One, but two Ultrapixel cameras

HTC One (M8) BackThe original HTC One made waves by changing the game when it came to mobile camera technology. Instead of simply going for the biggest megapixel number, HTC looked to educate users on quality over quantity by introducing their Ultrapixel technology. HTC Ultrapixel has a 1/3" sensor size & 2µm pixel size for unparalleled low light imagery.

The 2014 HTC One now features 2 of these 4MP Ultrapixel camera modules, with a dual LED true-tone flash. No matter what the scene, the All New HTC One will perform at the height of its capabilities. Shoot indoors or outdoors, in direct sun, or at dusk; Ultrapixel promises to deliver natural and realistic images. HTC Zoe also returns to turn collections of your related images into short videos or ZOEs.

The new dual camera module will also allow for intuitive focussing features, including the option to choose where to focus, not only during the shot, but also after the image has been taken! That's right, the unique dual camera saves images in a manner that lets you manipulate them like never before on a smartphone, including refocussing, so you never miss the perfect moment.

BoomSound - One speaker is not enough

Not content to simply change perceptions of camera quality in a mobile, HTC also went on the offensive last year when it came to speakers and sound production.

The result was BoomSound audio enhancement, delivered by two powerful, front-facing speakers. The style has since been picked up by competitors and HTC are continuing to develop the feature.

With the speakers working together with BoomSound, audio is presented in a manner never heard before on a smartphone. In fact the updated speakers and amplifier compartments can push up to 25% louder volume than previously; no mean feat for what was already the best portable music experience in a smartphone.

Whether you are watching YouTube videos, playing games, listening to recorded tracks or even just your own recorded content, BoomSound on the All New HTC One has the power to please your eardrums with auditory excellence.

HTC One (M8)One piece of machined aluminium

With design awards under their belt from many an onlooker & reviewer in 2013, HTC have made the crucial decision to keep the all-aluminium sealed chassis. Other handsets in the One range might not completely adhere to the style, but none of these are the All-New HTC One.

Each of these new devices by HTC has the body machine cut from a single piece of aluminium. This not only provides a safe, sturdy frame for the HTC One (M8) but also feels exquisite in the hand; truly a device for the discerning individual.

Added battery life

With the new HTC One, battery life has been improved by up to 40% on last year's model. There are also additional battery saving modes that can reduce the amount of battery power used by limiting resources when in standby. The extreme version of this cuts back on all connections and can allow the HTC One (M8) to stay powered for up to 2 weeks in standby!

Alongside this there are some other neat additions, including a feature to wake the screen with a double-tap, slide to open apps stored on the lock screen and a number of gesture controls that will work with the screen turned off.

Superb! just grab this amazing device with amazing sixth sense UI on top of Android paired with fast hardware for blazing fast performance this is enough for 5 years phone usage in my opinion because this Snapdragon 801 is not getting outdated in terms of real life app usage, there are no apps that utilize this much performance 2.3Ghz Quadcore with 2GB Ram LP-DDR3 so no need to upgrade from this phone for next 5 years IMO, the only downside I see is camera is only 4MP nothing else so nice work HTC Keep it up!

Amazing device and top notch specs but 16GB internal storage? seriously? but I also see Sony Xperia Z2 with same storage why not give 64GB internal with 128GB SD but anyways this is the best iphone replacement with Android OS PREMIUM Smartphone for Smart People.

  • Ted 1/6/2014 Recommend to a friend? No
Great phone but I had to return it because 16gb is too little storage. What a shame because apart from the tiny storage that matches phones from 5 years ago this was a great phone.
