Ring Video Doorbell 2 Overview
Have you ever wanted to know who's at your door when you're away? With the original Ring Video Doorbell 2, you never have to worry about that again.
Ring connects to your home Wi-Fi network and is designed to connect to your smartphone, wherever you are in the world.
A 1080p Full High Definition camera records whoever rings the bell, or approaches and trips the motion sensors.
As soon as this happens, you get an alert on your smartphone or tablet. Through the free app, you can instantly see who's at your door and even talk to them - each Ring has two-way communication with a built-in microphone & speaker.
Ring lets you set up customised 'motion zones' depending on if people tend to approach from the front or sides of your entrance. There is also infrared night vision, plus a weather resistant design so Ring can stay fixed to the outside all year round.
Additional Ring Products
Ring produce a range of connected security products that work together to monitor your home's exterior. These include the following:
No professional installation required
Ring has been designed to get up and running as quickly as possible. No professional installation is required.
The unit has a built-in rechargeable battery which will last between 6-12 months with Ring's use-case testing. The battery will recharge in 4-5 hours from a standard 2.1A USB charger. Low battery notifications are sent automatically to the app.
New to the 2nd generation Video Doorbell 2 is a micro USB port in the unit's removable battery. This makes it much simpler to recharge than the original unit, which needed you to unscrew the entire bell from the wall.
Ring can also be optionally wired into your building's mains power for continuous uninterrupted use.
All Ring products can connect to a standard Wi-Fi router and support WPA2, WPA and WEP security. A static IP address can be assigned if you so wish.
Each Ring is supplied with proprietary security screws. This makes Ring especially difficult to steal. If anyone does manage to remove your Ring, it can be replaced free of charge if a police report is supplied.

Using the free Ring App which is available for Apple, Android, and Windows 10 devices, you can see an HD Video stream of the person at your door and speak to them using two-way audio communication.
Ring Doorbell can alert you when someone presses the button on your doorbell or when motion is detected. Ring Doorbells operate on battery power or hooked up to your home doorbell wiring.
HOW BIG IS RING DOORBELL?
Ring Doorbell is 12.83cm x 6.35cm x 2.74cm.
DOES RING REQUIRE POWER WIRES TO WORK?

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE THE BATTERY TO RECHARGE?
When connected to a 2.1 amp charger, Ring will fully charge in approximately 4-5 hours. When connected to a 1 amp charger, Ring will fully charge in approximately 9-10 hours.

Yes - you'll receive email reminders when your battery runs low. The Ring app also features a low-battery warning, as well as a battery level indicator that you can check at any time.
ARE THERE ANY ADDITIONAL FEES INVOLVED?
All Ring devices will operate without an additional fee or subscription. However, Ring offer optional Ring Video Recording Plans that cost a monthly or yearly subscription fee.
Without Ring Video Recording, you will still receive alerts when visitors press your Doorbell or trigger the motion sensors in your device, and you’ll still get live streaming video and two-way audio, so you can see, hear and speak to guests in real-time, as the event is happening.
However, if you don’t have Ring Video Recording and you miss an alert or a live event, you will not be able to review the video. Ring Video Recording will save all of your recordings to your Ring account for up to 60 days, and with Ring Video Recording, you can also review the videos, download them to local storage, and share them via social media, text and email.
There are two options for Ring Video Recording: Basic and Protect. Basic costs £2.50 per month or £24.99 for the year per device; Protect costs £8 per month or £80 for year, and it covers an unlimited amount of Ring cameras and offers a lifetime product warranty.
